OG On Monday, the students Henning Wagner (Production, DFFB) and Richard König (Social and Business Communications, Ud K) presented their interactive web series project You Decide as part of MEDIA CONVENTION Berlin, and discussed the project with experts after the presentation. TALe, the funding programme with which Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg supports innovative digital content at the Filmuniversität Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF and the DFFB.
The prize for the Best Full-length Feature Film is endowed with 25,000 EUR prize money.
WASSER / WATER by Silke Eggert is nominated for the Screenplay Award, which is endowed with 10,000 Euro prize money.
GRADE, as well as the Filmnetzwerk Berlin, which aims to organise regular get-togethers for Berlin-based filmmakers. Elsa Rosengren has won the ORONA AWARD, endowed with 5,000 € prize money, at the 16th Eiecine International Film Students Meeting at the 65th San Sebastian Film Festival for her film ZEIT DER UNRUHE / NEWS 23/06/16 (Cinematography: Katharina Wahl, Production: Nadja Rothkirch).
And of course our in-house cinema will once again be screening selected films from the over 200 works created at the DFFB by our students over the course of a year. In addition, the film also received a Special Nominal Mention at the Panavision Award. Alexandra Balteanu’s film VANATOARE (Screenplay: Xandra Popescu, Cinematography: Matan Radin, Production: Stanislav Danylyshyn) has been nominated for the YOUNG FILM ART PRIZE, endowed with 10.000 € prize money!

Seven years after Dominik Graf’s milestone IM ANGESICHT DES VERBRECHENS / IN THE FACE OF CRIME (2010), a new generation of German serial-makers is now at work, largely, albeit with a few exceptions, taking American role models and standards as their point of reference.
For those who want to study at DFFB from the next year onwards: Due to technical problems we will extend the deadline for the online registration until this Wednesday, Dec. In SERIAL GERMANY, the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin (dffb), in conjunction with its post-graduate programme Serial Eyes and the Filmnetzwerk Berlin, seeks to enter into dialogue with key players in more current productions.

Prospective students can find out more about application requirements and courses at the DFFB in a series of study advisory sessions on 7th October 2017 (from 11.00 to 18.00).
Alongside information and advice on studying specific disciplines (directing, production, cinematography and screenwriting), there will also be general advisory sessions on studies at the DFFB.
The issues to be explored include production conditions, the role of the “American model” but also the aesthetic and societal significance of serial-format storytelling.
